Suchit Sahni’s works are influenced by his memories, his surroundings, daily experiences and the relationship of people with the world around them. Most of his paintings are narrative and relate a story which resonates with the viewer. He could be depicting a market-place, an amusement park, a rickshaw puller or even a parked car or motorcycle. Suchit takes photographs of impressionable scenes which he considers drawings or primary sketches and is the starting point for further alterations and manipulations on canvas. His works have a lyrical quality and can be considered nostalgic, romantic and fantastical. But more importantly they are cheerful, vibrant, fun and positive.
